Internal Poll: Nunnelee 8 Points Up
Nunnelee said in release Tuesday that the results of the poll offer proof that voters in the 1st district are frustrated and want a Congressman who will “represent their conservative Mississippi values and hold Obama and Nancy Pelosi accountable.”
Brad Morris, a senior advisor to Childers, said Nunnelee’s “talking about questionable political polls when people want to hear about jobs.”
“Instead of talking about suspicious polls, Alan Nunnelee should explain why he wants to privatize Social Security and why he keeps raising our taxes after 15 years in the legislature,” Morris said
Nunnelee, who didn’t need a runoff to beat a tea party candidate and a Sarah Palin-endorsed candidate in his June 1 primary, was recruited early this cycle by national party leaders to put the conservative northern Mississippi back into the GOP column.
CQ Politics currently rates the general election race as Tossup.
