Barbour: Federal cash could subsidize Miss. jobs
Gov. Haley Barbour says his administration wants to use federal stimulus money to help subsidize about 4,800 private-sector jobs in Mississippi.
Barbour told about 200 people Tuesday at a business forum in Jackson that the state is seeking final federal approval for the plan he calls Mississippi STEPS: Subsidized Transitional Employment Program and Services.
