WLBT – Wicker tells students why he opposes health care
he sometimes heated debate over health care reform, was presented in a much more civil manner at University Medical Center Tuesday.
Senator Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi) was in town to share his opinion on what system would be better for Mississippi, with a group of medical students.
Wicker told the group he opposes a public health care plan like the one they have in Canada, because he feels it would bankrupt the Medicare system.
He feels that would put more pressure on individual states to find funding for Medicaid, in a tight economy.
