Obama got most votes, and also editorials

By: Magnolia Tribune - November 18, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger Editorial, 11/16/8

Some post-election thoughts now that we’ve had some time to really take in the amazing , things we have just witnessed:

Endorsements are controversial and I did get some comments from those who disagreed with The Clarion-Ledger’s endorsement of President-elect Barack Obama. There were some particularly mean ones, but that is OK. Goes with the job.

However, those who said The Clarion-Ledger was out of the mainstream thought and out of touch for endorsing Obama are, well, out of the mainstream.

True, Mississippians voted for Republican John McCain. And we would never base an endorsement on popular opinion. We endorse who we think is the best candidate. But, a look at other daily paper endorsements might give a clue to “mainstream” thinking.
