Earmarks: Musgrove’s opposition should be frightening to small Mississippi communities

One of the few things that’s kept the poorest state in the union in the game has been the ability of senior Mississippi legisators to direct federal spending here through congressional earmarks. Every university, every military base, every defense plant, most every county and city has at one point or another been the beneficiary of federal earmarks.

Thinking about moving forward without senators willing to help Mississippi communities in that fashion is indeed problematic. The fact is that Musgrove can’t be effective for Mississippians without seeking federal earmarks.
