Election panel meets on ballot

Mississippi election commissioners will decide whether a hard-fought U.S. Senate race will appear near the top or the bottom of the ballot this November.

The placement could be crucial in determining how many people vote in the special election between Republican Roger Wicker and Democratic challenger Ronnie Musgrove.

There’s typically a significant drop-off in the number of votes from the top of the ballot to the bottom.
