The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal Editorial, 9/3/8
If the 2008 special U.S. Senate election is like other statewide contests, Northeast Mississippi will be the key.
For Democrat Ronnie Musgrove to defeat Republican Roger Wicker in the Nov. 4 race, he must excel in Northeast Mississippi.
In other words, Musgrove must do well in Wicker’s home area.
Musgrove has won two statewide races – one for governor and another for lieutenant governor – and in each instance he has captured Northeast Mississippi.
No doubt, the recipe for victory for a Democrat on the statewide level is to win Northeast Mississippi.
