BREAKING!- Someone said, if the Black Caucus asked Billy for the keys to the Capitol, he would answer, “How Many”? Details are sketchy but apparently Billy McCoy is acquiescing to yet another obligated request from the Black Caucus.
Here is what I have so far.
The Legislative Black Caucus has requested to make a presentation at the LBO (Legislative Budget Office) hearing starting Sept. 15th. The highly unusual request to Billy McCoy was made in the form of an Amendment by Rep. Billy Broomfield on behalf of the Black Caucus. The LBO hearings are for state agencies to present projections and budget request for the 2009 Legislative Session. It is most unusual for political groups to request the same type of presentation.
I’ve spoken with just about every possible G.R.I.T. member out there and most were stunned and completely unaware of the request. Nobody knows exactly what will be in the presentation. Guesses range from the Black Caucus asking for special funding for travel for their members to presenting their very own “Black Caucus State Budget”.
The unusual request from a political group to make a presentation before the LBO is for September 25th, at 10:45 a.m. As your humble servant, I will remind you about the meeting as the date approaches.
