By: Magnolia Tribune - August 22, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger, 8/22/8

Jackson Mayor Frank Melton stepped back onto familiar ground Thursday for his third State of the City speech, speaking to a mostly supportive group about the city’s development successes, its crumbling infrastructure and his continued passion for its troubled youth.

He also alluded to his precarious position as he begins to campaign for re-election while under a federal indictment.

“I’m under a tremendous amount of pressure,” he said. “There have been mistakes made, but never a mistake that involved a human being.”
