Barbour responds to trusty flak

By: Magnolia Tribune - July 28, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger, 7/27/8

Gov. Haley Barbour is promising better communication with the public if he pardons or suspends the sentence of an inmate, following an uproar after he approved the release of a convicted killer who worked at the Governor’s Mansion.

Barbour decided several days ago to conditionally release Michael David Graham, who had been serving a life sentence for the 1989 killing of his wife, Adrienne Klasky, in Pascagoula.

Barbour’s suspension of the sentence triggered complaints from many south Mississippians, many of whom said Barbour was unresponsive to their requests to reconsider his ruling.
