House fails to resurrect voter ID bill
While 54 lawmakers supported the attempt, 61 opposed it. Voter ID legislation has repeatedly passed the Senate and died in the House.
The latest attempt to resurrect the issue came during the sixth day of a costly special session called by Gov. Haley Barbour. Barbour, a Republican, included voter ID as one of 11 items on his agenda.
