Attorney Roberts Wilson is seeking sanctions against his former partner, Dickie Scruggs, in a dispute over asbestos fees earned from their Pascagoula practice.
Scruggs bribed the judge in the case, Bobby DeLaughter, causing Wilson to lose after a 12-year legal battle, his attorneys contend. Two other attorneys who represented Scruggs in the case during 2006 have admitted the conspiracy to bribe DeLaughter, who has denied any wrongdoing but accepted suspension while the Justice Department investigates.
