Madison County’s voter rolls are expected to be intact by Tuesday’s presidential and congressional primaries despite the improper actions of one election commissioner to remove more than 10,000 voters from the books.
The names were moved from active to inactive status since January by District 1 Election Commissioner Sue Sautermeister without prior knowledge or approval of the other four election commissioners.
Federal election law states that names may not be moved to the inactive list within 90 days of a federal election.
