Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport officials unveiled a new $50 million terminal expansion today that nearly doubles the space at the terminal.
The new expansion increases the size of the terminal from 92,000 square feet to more than 165,000 square feet. It adds two new gates, a larger baggage area and space for two new airlines.
“We can run with the big dogs,” said William Martin, president of the Harrison County Board of Supervisors.
Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., said the airport provides a needed gateway to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, with its beaches, casinos and industries.
