Prosecutors ready to say bribery attempts aren’t anything new
Federal prosecutors seem to be saying it’s not the first time famed Oxford attorney Richard Scruggs and others have tried to bribe a judge.
Monday, they filed a “notice of intent” to introduce “similar acts evidence” in its case against Scruggs, his son Zach and Oxford legal associate Sidney Backstorm, who are accused of trying to bribe Circuit Judge Henry Lackey of Calhoun County.
