Trent Lott is just days away from leaving the Senate forever, so he’s getting a little wistful about his time here under the Capitol dome. He’s already talking about writing a book, like just about every former Washington insider.
Lott (R-Miss.), said Wednesday afternoon that he’s already outlined a few chapters, but for those looking for insider dirt on fellow GOP and Democratic colleagues, Lott warns that his tome might be disappointing.
The working title is “It’s Called Leadership,” Lott says, and he plans to write 20 chapters, each one profiling a politician who at least in Lott’s eyes did something inspirational. Lott said he’ll probably have chapters about Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.), Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and former Democratic Majority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota.
