Given the differences in the political culture between Mississippi and Iowa, Sen. Clinton was expressing her surprise that Iowa and Mississippi are the only two states in the nation that haven’t elected a woman to the offices of governor, U.S. Senate, or Congress. It goes without saying that Senator Clinton would be thrilled to see both Mississippi and Iowa elect more women to office.”
