Watching the race for House District 16 almost seems like a sporting event.
In one corner, incumbent Steve Holland of Plantersville has spent nearly a quarter century in the position. He’s a populist Democrat who does not suffer opposition lightly.
In the other corner is Everett Dutschke, a Republican from Tupelo. He says he believes Mississippi is a conservative state and needs no Democrats in office.
