Jackson Mayor Frank Melton said he would announce later this week administrative changes meant to hold employees more accountable.
The changes mainly would involve reassigning 12 positions, of which six are police related, Melton said.
Among the planned changes are promoting a second person to assistant police chief, hiring a retired Jackson officer as director of youth services and adding a sergeant to the protective services division – the mayor’s bodyguards.
