Only about $1 million of the $30 million raised by celebrities and others to help Hurricane Katrina victims rebuild has been spent, officials with the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund said Monday.
Hurricane Recovery Fund officials say that the money has been earmarked for distribution and cite a variety of reasons why more has not been spent to help Gulf Coast residents rebuild.
