After 35 years, six city councils, nine governors, eight presidents and countless other political offices, Jackson County Republican matriarch Alice Cox said she hopes she’s made a difference.
“I believe in open, honest government,” Cox said. “That’s what I’ve always told all of them, whether I supported them or not. I’ve never asked for a personal favor. I’ve just asked for good, clean government. And if you’re not planning on running the government open and honestly — don’t ask people to vote for you.”
