Setting a ‘Standard’: Proposals to revitalize Miss. landmark weighed

Through its nearly 80 years, Jackson’s iconic Standard Life Building has been home to assorted operations, from an insurance company to a police department, but now officials hope to turn the skyscraper into a combination of residential, office and retail space.

Three proposals under scrutiny by the Jackson Redevelopment Authority would repurpose the state’s art deco jewel for a mixed use, which is the latest development vogue.
