Is city crime’s rate really decreasing?
Is it remotely possible that Jackson’s reduction in crimes (“Is Jackson getting safer?” April 15) might be due in part to misreporting by law enforcement of crimes like breaking and entering being reported as “malicious mischief?” Or maybe it’s possible that things go unreported?
Most clear-thinking individuals find it hard to believe crime is actually decreasing at the rate reported.
