IHL hopes to have new MUW President in place by spring 2027

• The IHL search committee is now conducting a national search with the planned assistance of a higher education search firm to replace Nora Miller who retired in June.

The search for the next president at the Mississippi University for Women is ongoing, according to the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning.

Expectations are that a new president be in place by early in the spring semester of 2027.

IHL has formed a search committee chaired by Trustee Teresa Hubbard. Other trustees serving on the search committee include Amy Arrington, Jerry Griffith, Charlie Stephenson, Board Vice President Gregg Rader, and Board President Dr. Steven Cunningham.

Former MUW President Nora Miller retired on June 30 after serving in the role since 2018.

During Miller’s time as president, MUW saw increased enrollment numbers, expansion of academic programs that are workforce-focused, and a modernization of the institution’s operations.

The IHL search committee is now conducting a national search with the planned assistance of a higher education search firm to replace Miller.

For now, IHL has named Dr. Scott Tollison, former provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, as interim president effective July 1.

Tollison has worked at MUW for 22 years, beginning as an instructor in what was then the Division of Business and Communication.
