YP – Commission selects New Magnolia Flag for voters to consider in November

The November ballot will present the New Magnolia Flag as the option for Mississippi’s new state flag. It beat out the Great River flag, with commissioners voting 8-1 to advance the design for voter consideration…

…A motion was made just before the vote came in to change the name of whichever flag that was selected to the “In God We Trust” flag moving forward.

YP – Espy seeks donations for bail money for Wisconsin protestors

Mississippi Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Mike Espy is supporting Milwaukee Freedom Fund’s efforts to raise bail money to free people detained in Wisconsin for “demanding Justice for Jacob Blake.”

Espy shared this tweet on Tuesday asking followers to, “Please consider donating $10 dollars or more to support the fight against injustice in our country.”

The fund Espy shared is linked to ActBlue, a Democrat-ran fundraising organization with ties to national Democratic candidates and social justice groups such as Black Lives Matter.

YP – Mike Espy campaign releases new TV ad through national media outlets

Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Mike Espy released a new ad via NBC today.

According to NBC News, this latest ad was shared exclusively with them as “part of six-figure buy… buoyed by new internal polling showing a race within single digits.”…

…Pushing the ad through a national outlet is likely more of a sign that the ad push is about trying to attract national attention to raise money down the home stretch (or a future gig) and not as much about reaching voters in Mississippi at this point.
