NFIB makes more endorsements for 2019 elections in Fitch, Chaney and Hosemann

By: Sarah Ulmer - October 21, 2019

The National Federation of Independent Business made three more endorsements in the elections of 2019 since endorsing Lt. Governor Tate Reeves for Governor.

NFIB most recently backed three more Republicans for office; Lynn Fitch for Attorney General, Mike Chaney for Insurance Commissioner and Delbert Hosemann for Lt. Governor.

Treasurer of Mississippi, Lynn Fitch

“The office of attorney general is vital to small business,” said Ron Aldridge, NFIB’s state director for Mississippi. “Our entrepreneurs and family businesses need an attorney general who will work with them and not treat them as a foe. “That’s why the decision to endorse Lynn Fitch was so easy for our members and political action committee. Lynn Fitch grew up around a family farm, so she knows what it’s like to run a small business. And as Mississippi’s state treasurer and in other positions of state service, she has been open, available, and eager to assist small business when it has encountered difficulties.

Mississippi Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Chaney

“Small business believes the overwhelmingly best choice for insurance commissioner is clear,” said Ron Aldridge, NFIB’s state director for Mississippi. “Our members support the candidates who truly support small business.  Mike Chaney has done just that. He has stood up for the insured, served with integrity and fairness, and helped create an insurance, legal, and regulatory environment that helps attract and keep good businesses in Mississippi. As insurance commissioner for the past 12 years, Mike Chaney has continued to earn small business’s trust and support. Mike Chaney is a small business owner himself and has shown us that he understands the challenges facing our small, family businesses, and their employees. He will work with them to find commonsense solutions. Mike’s worked extremely hard to make insurance more affordable and accessible.”

“Small business drives Mississippi’s economy, which is why we need leaders like Delbert Hosemann,” said Ron Aldridge, NFIB’s state director for Mississippi. “Delbert Hosemann is the clear choice for Mississippi’s small businesses. As secretary of state, Delbert Hosemann has shown our small business members that he’s a problem solver who holds true to his commitments. His innovative efforts provided access to highly valuable market and business data throughout our state that gives every Mississippian desiring to create, operate and grow their own business a greater opportunity for success.
