A new flurry of TV ads launch with the 2019 Primary one month away

By: Sarah Ulmer - July 9, 2019

With less than 30 days to go before the Mississippi statewide election primaries, candidates are beginning to spend money on the TV ads they’ve been raising campaign funds for.  Several ads launched today featuring candidates for statewide office that seek either to raise the candidate’s profile or take a swipe at opponents.

Most recently, television ads were released from candidates in the Governor’s race, Secretary of State, and Treasurer.

Bill Waller for Governor:

The Bill Waller for Governor campaign released a new television ad focused on addressing the key issues affecting Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, including BP and other restoration funding, as well as the Bonnet Carre Spillway.

The ad is airing on the Gulf Coast as it pertains primarily to Coast restoration efforts.

David McRae for Treasurer:

Republican candidate for State Treasurer David McRae launched his third statewide television ad. The ad, being added to the statewide rotation on Monday is called “Boundless Energy,” and features his wife Katie.

Sam Britton for Secretary of State:

Sam Britton’s campaign for Secretary of State released its second television ad which has begun airing statewide.

“In this campaign my opponent has recklessly attacked me over and over,” Britton said. “I’ve remained focused on the issues that I feel are most important to Mississippians, their families and the future of our state. I hope you’ll watch my new campaign ad that shows a true difference on where I stand and where my opponent stands.”

Tate Reeves for Governor:

The latest ad in the Mississippi gubernatorial race stars Elee Reeves, Lt. Governor Tate Reeves’ wife. In the 30-second spot, which will air in markets across the state, she talks about Tate Reeves’ temperament and heart for Mississippi. Elee and Tate Reeves were both raised in small Mississippi towns and worked in the financial services industry. She has been a fixture on the campaign trail, including several campaign stops last week.

More TV ads are sure to launch in the coming days.
