Congressman Michael Guest Votes for Bi-Partisan Funding Bill to Address Humanitarian Crisis on the Border

By: Sarah Ulmer - June 28, 2019

Today, Congressman Guest voted in favor of H.R. 3401 – Emergency Supplemental Appropriations for Humanitarian Assistance and Security at the Southern Border Act of 2019, the bi-partisan bill to mitigate the humanitarian crisis and provide much needed support for law enforcement agents on our southwest border.

“We still have a long way to go to completely address the drug and immigration crisis, but this bill will provide much needed support to mitigate the immediate impacts of the humanitarian crisis on our border,” Guest said. “I’m pleased that we were able to reach this bi-partisan achievement. I hope we can continue this spirit of compromise and reach an agreement that seals unsecured areas of our border to help prevent the flow of illegal drugs into the country.”

The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 84-8, then passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 305-102. The bill will now go to the White House where it is expected to be signed by President Trump.
