By: Sarah Ulmer - March 29, 2019

Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves addressed the Mississippi State Senate for the final time on March 29, 2019, as he will not be returning after 8 years of service. He is now running for Governor of Mississippi in the 2019 election Cycle.

Reeves was elected to Lt. Governor in 2011. Previously, he was elected as Mississippi’s 53rd Treasurer in 2033 and re-elected to a second term four years later with 61 percent of the vote, the highest percentage of any candidate running for a statewide office. He was the first Republican treasurer in the state’s history.
