“Man arrested for making ‘deadly threats’ against Gov. Phil Bryant, MBI says”
According to an article by the Clarion Ledger, a Michigan man has been arrested for making ‘deadly threats’ over the phone to Governor Phil Bryant back in January.
Harold Joseph Collins, 48, of Detroit, was charged with five counts of cyberstalking by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday.
Colllins faces up to two years in prison and a $5,000 fine for each count. He appeared at the Hinds County Court and a judge ordered him to be held on no bond for the charges.
The U.S. Marshals Service and Detroit Police Department helped with the investigation, the release said.
MBI Director Lee Morrison said in a statement: “These threats were of a very serious and specific nature and we did not take them lightly. We appreciate the assistance of both agencies in the apprehension of Collins.”
MBI did not say specifically what threats were allegedly made.
