Our roads, bridges, waterways, rail and airports are essential resources for economic development and job creation. As your commissioner, I will focus on making sure that all modes of transportation are an asset in the recruitment of more and better jobs for Mississippi. My three decades of experience in government and the private sector have prepared me to take the job on day one.” said Yoste.

Upon his retirement from the military in 2004, Geoffrey served as the Director of Mississippi Operations for DRS Technologies. In this capacity, he directed several strategic initiatives in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.  In 2008, He founded Yoste Strategic Partners, LLC a professional business development consulting practice supporting defense industry clients.

“As commissioner, I will ensure that all citizens of the northern district have adequate roads and byways. I will work with local and regional elected officials to identify and execute specific projects that are essential to the continued growth of the economy of this state” Yoste said. “I am passionate about this region, the work that needs to be done with our infrastructure, and I am confident that my experience has prepared me for the task ahead.”

A sixth generation Mississippian, Yoste has lived in Lafayette County with his wife, Julie, their three children; Connell 21, John Owen 19 and Gigi 16 for the past 18 years.
