President Donald Trump campaigns with Cindy Hyde-Smith in October 2018.
Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith is hitting the road beginning Saturday, starting a bus tour that will take her around the state to meet with voters, answer their questions and discuss key issues leading up to election day.
The tour starts Oct. 20 in Covington County with a meet-and-greet from noon to 1 p.m. at Morgans on Main and another at Mitchell Farms from 1-2 p.m.
“Cindy will travel to all corners of the state to meet with voters,” spokeswoman Melissa Scallan said. “She is taking her message directly to the people for one-on-one campaigning to discuss the key issues that matter most.”
On Sunday, the tour will stop for a reception at 4:30 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison.
The campaign is adding more stops between now and the election. Additional events will be announced in the coming days.
Throughout the tour, state and local elected officials will join her at various stops to show support.
“We are excited to visit people in all parts of Mississippi, unfiltered and in person,” Scallan said, “and we look forward to discussing the topics that mean most to the people of this state.”
