City of Jackson chosen to participate in Facebook Community Boost Program

By: Sarah Ulmer - May 3, 2018

Jackson has been chosen as one of 30 markets nationwide to participate in the Facebook Community Boost Program happening throughout 2018.  Jackson joins cities like Phoenix, Buffalo, Minneapolis, and Denver that are also on the list for similar events.

The boost will help small businesses, entrepreneurs and job seekers grow their business and develop new digital skills they need to compete in our state’s new economy.  It will feature both training and forums for small business owners to network and learn more about social media and the role it can play to help connect with customers.

According to Facebook –

3 in 10 Small and medium-sized businesses on Facebook in the United States built their business on Facebook

42% of small and medium-sized businesses on Facebook in the United States say they’ve been able to hire more employees due to growth since joining Facebook

56% of small and medium-sized businesses on Facebook in the United States say they have increased sales because of Facebook

Since 2011 Facebook has invested more than $1 billion to support small businesses, but are now making a greater effort to support local businesses.

For Jackson, the event is taking place on September 18-19. You can find out more about the event on the Facebook Community Boost page.
