GOP pundit Allen West questions motives of Confederate monument critics
Former GOP congressman and conservative commentator Allen West said he believes protesters from the left and the right were both wrong in Charlottesville, and offered skepticism of critics of Confederate monuments Thursday….
….West included Black Lives Matters and anti-racist movement protesters in with the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacists in his condemnation of violence.
“They’re all wrong,” West said of the protesters. “We don’t need violence and we don’t need that racial divisiveness.”
“I don’t care what side of the spectrum you are on. The same type of emotion that causes someone to shoot a Republican member of Congress, my former colleague Rep. Steve Scalise, you’re on the same moral plane in my opinion,” West said.
