Gov. Bryant helps mark 25 years of operations at Tremont welcome center

Governor, others celebrate Mississippi Welcome Center’s 25 years of operation

TREMONT, Miss. (WTVA) – Some travelers got a surprise Wednesday morning when they stopped at the Mississippi Welcome Center on Interstate 22 in Tremont.

They found Governor Phil Bryant and others speaking at a program recognizing the center’s 25 years of serving drivers who stop while passing through the region on what used to be Highway 78.

“It’s the number one center in the state,” said Bryant. “More people come to this than to any other center.”
