COCHRAN STATEMENT SUPPORTING CONFIRMATION OF NEIL GORSUCH
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) today released the following statement regarding his vote to confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit to be an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
“I firmly believe Judge Gorsuch’s intellect and legal philosophy make him an excellent choice to serve on the Supreme Court. He has served with distinction on the U.S. Court of Appeals, and has earned a reputation for being fair and impartial. I am pleased to support his confirmation.”
Gorsuch was confirmed by a 54-45 vote. The federal judge from Colorado was nominated by President Trump in January to fill the seat previously held by the late Justice Antonin Scalia.
