Lawmakers approve 3-member oversight board
Boards that regulate fellow members of professions in Mississippi would face new oversight from three elected officials, if Gov. Phil Bryant approves a bill passed Tuesday.
House Bill 1425 tasks the governor, attorney general and secretary of state with examining professional rules.
The board would approve, reject or suggest changes to regulations adopted by boards overseeing doctors, engineers, barbers and many others.
