Plans moving forward for new Mississippi Trade Mart
JACKSON, Miss. —
The Mississippi Trade mart in Jackson is going to be razed and replaced by a new exhibit hall attached to the Mississippi Coliseum.
Leaders say the 42-year-old building is starting to fall apart. “So when you’ve got an aging, declining building you’re spending a lot of money on…You know, it just makes sense,” said Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture Cindy Hyde-Smith.
Hyde-Smith said the old building won’t come down until the new complex is completed, thanks to the help of a 30 million dollar bond.
