Palazzo Statement on Ingalls LPD 28 Contract
Washington, DC – Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) released the following statement regarding the announcement that Ingalls Shipbuilding was awarded a $1.46 billion contract for the design and construction of the amphibious transport dock Fort Lauderdale, LPD 28:
“This is something that we have been working toward and looking forward to for a long time. From the first proposals, it was clear that Ingalls would be the best choice to provide the best capability along with the best quality to our Navy and Marine Corps team at the best price for the taxpayer. Today’s announcement continues to solidify Huntington Ingalls as the premier military shipbuilder, and the craftsmen of the Gulf Coast who build these ships as the absolute best at what they do.”
