Lawmakers flooded with inauguration ticket requests
In the days leading up to Election Day, Sen. Thad Cochran’s office had received a few requests for tickets to the presidential inauguration. But since Donald Trump was declared the winner, the phone has been ringing off the hook.
By Monday, the Republican senator’s office had gotten nearly 1,000 requests from Mississippians — way more than the 365 tickets he will give to visitors in the standing area of the ceremony. He has only a few tickets for the seated section.
