Gov. Bryant going to Washington? No call yet but stance softens

Bryant leaves door open to Trump appointment

At a victory-lap press conference at MSGOP headquarters Wednesday with other Republican and Trump campaign officials, Bryant was asked whether a cabinet appointment might be in the offing for him from Trump, and whether he’d accept.

“I do not expect to receive that phone call,” Bryant said. “… I just can’t say right now. Governors and presidents are hard to say no to.”

Bryant’s stance on a possible Trump post appears to have softened since late September, when he said, “I don’t want to go to Washington” when asked about the potential.
