Attorneys representing SRHS retirees appeal settlement to 5th Circuit
Attorneys representing Singing River Health System retirees want the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans to take a look at the $150 million class action settlement that was approved in June.
An appeal filed by Earl Denham and Harvey Barton cites eight alleged issues with the settlement agreement. Those issues include the belief by this group the settlement is not fair, reasonable or accurate. It alleges the judge hearing the case “committed an abuse of discretion by its failure to take any action regarding the perjured testimony about shredding of documents.”
SRHS representatives said they have received a copy of the appeal brief and they will “respond accordingly.”
