Endorsements for Election Day 2016
At the end of the day, Mississippi would be well served with either Kitchens or Griffis; however, we feel that Kitchens has a slight edge. He’s faithfully served the court for eight years, and we see no reason he should not continue to do so. Having diversity of judicial thought on the bench is important, and Kitchens’ long legal career provides insights others do not have.
We endorse incumbent Jim Kitchens for Supreme Court, central district.
(Editor’s note: Executive Editor Sam R. Hall did not participate in editorial board interviews nor did he vote on the endorsement for central district Supreme Court because he worked for incumbent Supreme Court Justice Jim Kitchens in 2008.)
