MSSC upholds sanctions against former Madison County judge

Former judge accused of racial slur sanctioned

The state Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the recommendation to remove then-Madison County Justice Court Judge Bill Weisenberger from office.

Madison County voters beat the justices to the punch in November 2015 when they ousted Weisenberger in a runoff, which he lost by more than 1,000 votes to challenger Lloyd Spivey III.

Weisenberger took office in January 2012 and took a voluntary leave from the bench in summer 2014 after a May 2014 incident at the Canton Flea Market, where he allegedly struck a 20-year-old African-American man and yelled, “Run, n—–, run.”
