One of the leaders of the Brexit movement that pushed for Great Britain to leave the European Union will be joining Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on the stump in Mississippi today.
Governor Phil Bryant made the announcement on the Paul Gallo Show Wednesday morning.
Nigel Farage, described by the New York Times as “the politician who probably did more than any other to force the referendum on British membership in the European Union…,” will speak at a $1,000 per ticket fundraiser and at a public rally at the Mississippi Coliseum, both in Jackson.
Farage will also be on statewide radio on the SuperTalk network of stations today. He will join The JT Show at 10am for an interview.
Trump has repeatedly said he supported the Brexit vote, comparing the British movement to his own effort to “take our country back.”
Farage has been described as “brash, outspoken, loquacious and divisive, a commodities broker turned politician who loves widely striped suits and large glasses of beer…”
Sounds like he’s tailor made for a Mississippi campaign stop with Trump.
