Lawmaker says he expects to be cleared of charges
A Mississippi state senator who has been charged with aggravated assault says he has not committed a crime and expects his name to be cleared.
In a statement emailed to The Associated Press late Friday, Sen. Chris Massey of Nesbit says authorities have distributed incorrect information about an incident Thursday in an Olive Branch subdivision.
