State legislator visits local republican women’s luncheon

At this month’s meeting of the Forrest-Lamar Republican Women luncheon, State House Representative Chris Johnson was the guest speaker.

He talked about key pieces of legislation such as the tax cut bill and eliminating the franchise tax as well as the state’s budget shortfall….

…”Yes it appears, we don’t have all of the final numbers yet, but it appears that we will be short for our budget for FY-16 and we will need to go into special session to allow the governor to allocate money from the rainy day fund to the general fund,” Johnson said.
