State Rep. Foster: If income taxes were reduced or eliminated he wouldn’t mind a higher gas tax

Legislative term ‘eye-opening’ for freshman lawmaker

Rep. Robert Foster’s experiences as a newly-elected state representative at the Mississippi Capitol in Jackson were revelatory for the 32-year-old freshman lawmaker….

…”There are some people down there who struggle with common sense but there are some rational people on both sides of the aisle,” Foster said. “We have a good group of people down there.”…

…If income taxes were reduced or even eliminated, Foster said he would not mind that loss in revenue being offset by higher gasoline taxes.
