Mississippi congressman supports ban on AR-15s
U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, the ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee, said he supports a ban on the AR-15. Thompson, of Bolton, said Congress should outlaw the high-capacity military-style weapon.
“For 49 people to be killed in this kind of situation, I think a member of Congress, or any other authority, would be remiss if they didn’t say we have to review these types of weapons in light of this tragedy,” Thompson said.
