Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs Jr. says is running for a second term in 2017.
The Vicksburg Post reports (http://bit.ly/1WQvJmi ) that Flaggs says he’s announcing early because he was “hearing footsteps” from potential challengers. The 63-year-old Democrat says he fasted and prayed before making his decision.
Flaggs served 25 years in the Mississippi House before stepping down in July 2012.
